Archival note

Moore had planned to give a short talk in Wittgenstein class on Friday February 19th. The class had to be cancelled, and the talk was postponed to the following Friday. Moore’s drafts of this essay can be found on seven pages of manuscript notes in his papers, catalogued under the title “Wittgenstein’s use of ‘grammar’”. The first five pages, the “revised version,” are a heavily revised draft of the text of Moore’s talk, rewritten in the week provided by the cancelled class; the last two pages are the conclusion of an earlier version of the talk, which had been drafted in time for the cancelled class meeting on February 19.
